A New Way
--- 11 ---
***
There once was a man who had a dream. A dream of a church within which love and peace would have an almost tangible presence. The people would know the peace. The unity would empower them to live rich, supported, happy lives, enjoying traditions and celebrations throughout the year. Never alone, never unsupported. Lives that could always look at their Church, with the same eye healthy families look for each other in their daily lives; the Tribe of the Church, knowing and trusting in it’s sanctuary and inspiration.
That man, we will call him David, had a Calling from God. The Calling initially caused a crisis for David. He wished to engage with the mission, but had found himself totally alone due to a series of crimes that had befallen him. David knew many wonders and had lived for decades in faith with God by his side. He wished to share his story and the wonders he knew. He was however wise, seeing the delicate tenderness of his story with God, if told in the wrong place, would fall on the deaf ears of disbelievers and the doubtful. He needed to know the right people who would be able to deliver the good news of God in the world, in the way they knew others would be able to see.
David saw people, life and the world in a different way than many. The time he had spent with God had changed many things about him. He had become a person with a peace and a wisdom that could benefit many. He saw the richness in the Christian churches but also saw where the failings are in many of them; the attendees sense it but don’t know how to say it, and certainly don’t have the ability to fill that gulf between what they are looking for and generally experiencing.
David’s dream of a Church Tribe is to honour God’s Calling. To build a church where people from all walks of life, yet with unified sensibilities, can find a place of love and peace to allow themselves to flourish freely.
David had a vision of a billboard, declaring who was welcome.
Creatives, scientists, builders, merchants, carpenters, bricklayers, musicians, doctors, writers, visionaries, philosophers, actors, technicians, gardeners, cooks, cleaners, soldiers, artisans, politicians, builders, painters, socialites, financiers, techies, film makers, personalities, drifters, adventurers…
In David’s vision the list went on. As the billboard became fuller, the writing got smaller. The writing became so small that eventually it could not be read, yet the list continued to grow. There came a moment when there was nothing but a solid colour. There then appeared clear words, gold in a shimmering light..
“Open to all who know God as the main thing in existence”
When David came out of his vision, he saw more clearly. The golden words had said much more than just the text. David felt a peace and inspiration for the new way...
The new way of the Church tribe is a dream of living in wholesome celebration of God. It is a dream that should become a reality. It is a dream that can become a reality when the right people recognise themselves as the people who can offer their support, to find what it is they are looking for.

In the 1960’s, space missions detected a stream of particles leaving our atmosphere in the polar regions. It was called the ‘polar wind’. The cause of this supersonic flow remained a mystery for decades. Recently, a suborbital mission collaboration, called ‘Endurance', has revealed what is driving the polar wind and the first evidence of a global electric field, which had been hypothesized about in the 1960’s. This ‘ambipolar electric field’ has been shown to be instrumental in atmospheric escape in the polar regions. When launched, Endurance took just 19 mins to collect its data which shows a change in electrical potential of just 0.55 volts. Although weak, this field is enough to counter gravity; hydrogen ions experience an outward force 10.6 times stronger than gravity, which is enough to launch them into space at supersonic speeds.
Astronomical notes from the Energy Syndicate
Last month we reported Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan - ATLAS was going to be visible from mid-October. In clear, early evening skies, it was bright, visible with the naked eye. Viewing this comet will be a first for everyone on Earth. The last time it got near to the Earth was 80,000 years ago, when it would have been noticed by Neanderthals. To see it in mid-October, clear skies and a low western horizon would have been needed. The 17th October should have seen it shining brightly. Here in the UK however, rain, fog and cloud cover spoilt the chance of many to observe the display, but, don’t worry; the comet will be moving east across the November sky. With the increase in darkness, the comet will remain visible throughout November, although it will also be fading as the month progresses.

Citizen Science is becoming increasingly popular as a source of reliable manpower to assess data. Some of the projects require technical skills, such as astrophotography, but many projects have their own easy to follow training modules to get you up and running very quickly. Some of the projects get you out into nature but many only require you to have a smartphone or a laptop to take part. Getting involved in a project can take you to new and interesting places. As an alternative to watching the latest soap, how about helping NASA to spot clouds on Mars? Yes, if you click this
, within minutes you could find yourself on Mars doing real science. NASA actually has a large range of projects which you could browse and get involved with. NASA

It has long been known that a rise in sea level in the Pacific is challenging the island nations. Rare high tides which swamp communities are becoming more common. For decades, the debate about reducing emissions and the severity of climate change has been an ongoing battle for the Pacific island nations such as Tuvalu, Fiji and Kiribati. New research however may be the hammer blow that none of these communities wanted to hear. A NASA project has recently presented their dramatic conclusions. In summary, the science is saying no matter what reductions in emissions there are, the rise in sea level is now irreversible. Over the next 30 years, the sea level will rise by at least 6 inches; causing extreme problems for the coastal communities.
